Helping You Find Your Way Back to Yourself
“Is this it?”
Have you ever asked yourself this question?
Have you ever felt like there has to be more to life than what you’re currently experiencing?
You feel the intense weight of the world sinking into your shoulders.
You care so deeply about the people, causes and work you love, to the point that it almost feels like too much to manage.
It’s as though you’re stretched so thin, you know you’re only capable of scratching the surface.
You want to dig deeper—into your relationships, your friendships, your work and yourself—but you don’t know where to begin.
I know the feeling, because I’ve been there myself.
I’m Dr. Laura Foster, life and mindset coach, yogi, retreat leader and founder of Soul Inspired Gurl. I created this business on a mission to lead women back to themselves.
I’m here to empower you to gain the clarity you seek, let go of limiting beliefs and speak your truth, so you can step into the power of the woman you are becoming.
If you want to better understand who you are and why you’re here, you’ve come to the right place. Of course, it’s a process – one I feel strongly is more of a remembering than a learning.
And sometimes, you need to be prepared to breakdown in order to breakthrough.
This is a lesson I learned the hard way.
Ten years ago, everything in my life came to a halt.
Looking back, my life appeared to “check all the boxes.” I built a successful career as a chiropractor; I was married and had two kids I adored. My life was so full and more than anything I could’ve imagined for myself – but the reality was, it didn’t feel the way I needed it to feel. I had accomplished what I always imagined success would and should feel like, and I did it all with the best intentions…
But in the process, I completely skipped over my relationship to myself.
My breakdown was quick, but my breakthrough took a lot of time, patience and inner exploration.
I’ve spent the last decade honing in on this ability to connect to my deep intuitive self and align my life to the truth of who I am.
In this timeframe, I got divorced, I retired my chiropractic license and I picked up my life in Ontario and moved it to Kelowna, B.C. I also met my life partner and my family of three evolved into a beautifully blended family of six.
The journey getting to this point was, at times, extremely challenging, but it was also extremely liberating. And I would do it all again one thousand times if that were what it took to get to where (and who) I am now.
Now, I want to ignite in other women what I’ve ignited in myself – but on a much larger scale.
I believe women are being called to step into themselves in a way they never have before. There is a feminine rise happening around us, between us and within us.
Through a culmination of my teaching, practice, retreats and personal journey to date, I am creating a space where we can learn, deepen and root into our intuition, voice, values and boundaries to honour our identities and re-discover a deep sense of self.
The best part is: you don’t have to do it alone. By joining my 10-week program, ROOTS, you’ll have the chance to connect and grow with other soul-inspired women on this journey.
At the end of the day, you’re the one doing the work, but it’s a lot more efficient and empowering when you have someone who will stand with you, elbow to elbow, and lead the way.
You can move mountains in minutes – you just need the right guide.
That’s where I come in.
Growing up, I was the youngest child of a vibrant family. My dad was the breadwinner and, as a business owner himself, he noticed my entrepreneurial drive from a young age.
I always had an eye for opportunity and knew that creating value for others was important to me. I ran my babysitting and snow removal businesses like Uber, watching other people’s kids and shovelling driveways around the clock for years, until eventually I burned out at age 12.
Having come from a generation where it was typically the men who were working outside the home, I grew up looking at entrepreneurship as a male-dominated world. I went off to chiro school and surrounded myself with male role models. This masculine energy followed me everywhere I went. At work and at home, the lens I viewed the world through was analytical, ambitious and assertive.
I always felt like in order to be successful in life, I had to lean into my masculine tendencies and shun my feminine energy. I only ever showed my hard edges, and I hid my soft ones.
As a result, I rejected an integral part of myself.
Until one day I decided I was done ignoring the gift of my feminine superpower.
Today, I jokingly call myself a recovering masculine female.
I now understand how to be a courageous leader in my feminine self. I believe our feminine traits are our superpower – but all too often, we shrink this part of us in pursuit of external acceptance.
Returning to your ROOTS is not just about accepting who you are; it’s about claiming this strong, wise and beautifully feminine part of yourself.
As women, we have this innate ability to feel the energy of the world, and through this we can create truly meaningful connections. It’s an incredibly liberating realization – one that has transformed the way I live my life.
I want you to feel this transformation, too.
